Old Logo

TSMC was founded in 1987 and hasn't seen an update since its initial founding. The circle with the grid cut through it represents a silicon wafer on which the semiconductor chips are produced.

New Logo

The new logo maintains the identity of the brand's history and legacy as one of the oldest semiconductor fabricators. The "pixels" call back to the old logo's wafer while leaving behind the grid that muddied the appearance of the logo. The sans-serif font modernizes the design and cements the brand as being the modern peak of the semiconductor industry.
